UCLA vs. Arizona Prediction and Odds for PAC-12 Championship (Zona Undervalued Despite Injuries)
By Reed Wallach
The top two seeds in the PAC-12 Conference Tournament are set to meet in the title game when No. 1 seed Arizona faces UCLA on Saturday night.
Arizona is in line for a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament but will look to add to a banner season by winning their Conference Tournament against UCLA, who they split the season series with.
Here are the odds for the PAC-12 final from WynnBET Sportsbook:
UCLA vs. Arizona Odds, Spread and Total
Spread:
- UCLA: +1.5 (-110)
- Arizona: -1.5 (-110)
Moneyline:
- UCLA: +105
- Arizona: -125
Total: 143 (Over -110/Under -110)
UCLA vs. Arizona Prediction and Pick
It's worth noting that Arizona will most likely be without starting guard Kerr Kriisa, who suffered a foot injury in the PAC-12 quarterfinals. Kriisa leads the Wildcats in assists, but the team didn't miss a beat, scoring 82 points against Colorado in the semis.
While the loss of Kriisa hurts, I still believe the athleticism edge is too much for UCLA to overcome. Zona has the edge inside, top five national in both 2-point offense and defense while also dominating on the glass, generating second chances at a top 20 clip.
Neither team is overly relaint on the 3-point shot, but I don't believe that Bruins starting point guard Tyger Campbell is going to be able to facilitate and create efficient jumpers for the likes of Johnny Juzang and Jaime Jaquez against the length of Arizona.
Yes, the loss of Kriisa may stymie the team's offense a bit, the team also improves on the defense by putting more length on the floor. I see Zona as a cut above UCLA this season and think this line is too much of an overreaction.
I'm going to bank on what I've seen all year and think Arizona runs away with the PAC-12 title.
PICK: Arizona -1.5, play to -3
