UEFA Euro 2020 Odds: England New Favorite Ahead of Quarterfinals

After a Group Stage that was largely uneventful, with the majority of betting favorites winning the games, the UEFA Euro Round of 16 certainly had its upsets.

Czech Republic upset the Netherlands, Ukraine upset Sweden and Switzerland knocked off the defending World Cup champions and the betting favorite to win the Euros in France.

With eight teams remaining, here are the updated odds to win the 2020 UEFA European Football Championship via WynnBET:

England favored to win first ever European Championship

The home of soccer hasn’t had much success on the World or European stage in their history of international play, with England's only win coming in the 1966 World Cup. It has never won a European Championship.

England's best finish came in 1996, when Gareth Southgate missed a penalty kick in the semifinals against Germany but went on to win the bronze medal. Twenty five years later, Southgate avenged the loss in a way by being the head coach of England for its Round of 16 victory against Germany.

Now that England has got by the Germans, the English have a favorable path to the finals. Their quarterfinals match is against Ukraine, and then they’ll face the winner of Czech Republic and Denmark in the semifinals.

Belgium and Italy set to face off in key quarterfinals match

If there’s one quarterfinal match that you won’t want to miss, it’s the one between Italy and Belgium. Belgium entered the tournament as one of the top favorites to win it all, and after an impressive group stage performance by Italy, it has established itself as a force to be reckoned with.

Italy and Belgium are third and fourth on the odds list at +325 and +650 respectively, and the team to advance will take on the winner of Spain and Switzerland. Italy is set as the +130 favorite in its match.
