UFC 266 Odds: Volkanovski vs. Ortega, Shevchenko vs. Murphy Headlines PPV Event
The UFC is set to host its first pay-per-view event in over a month this Saturday at UFC 266.
The card features two title fights. The men’s featherweight belt will be on the line in the main event between Alexander Volkanovski and Brian Ortega, and the women’s flyweight belt will be on the line in the co-main event when Valentina Shevchenko takes on Lauren Murphy.
Alexander Volkanovski vs. Brian Ortega Odds
Alexander Volkanovski will attempt to defend his featherweight belt for the second time on Saturday night when he faces Brian Ortega in the main event.
Volkanovski has won 19 straight fights dating back to May 10th, 2013, and he has never lost inside the UFC. He won the featherweight strap by defeating Max Holloway at UFC 245 in 2019, and then defended the belt in a rematch with Holloway at UFC 251 last July.
Ortega’s only loss in his mixed martial arts career came in his first attempt at capturing UFC gold when he lost to Holloway via TKO at UFC 231 in December of 2018. He rebounded in his next fight by defeating Chan Sung Jung via unanimous decision in October of 2020, and as a result has been awarded another shot at the belt.
WynnBET Sportsbook has has Volkanovski set as the -170 (bet $170 to profit $100) favorite against Ortega, who is set as the +145 (bet $100 to profit $145) underdog. The fight is expected to go to a decision as the odds for the fight to go OVER 4.5 rounds is set at -130.
Valentina Shevchenko vs. Lauren Murphy Odds
Valentina Shevchenko has firmly established herself as one of the greatest female fighters in the history of the sport. The only name that could top hers, is Amanda Nunes who defeated her twice, albeit she’s the bigger fighter and the decision in both bouts was razor thin.
Shevchenko has never lost in the flyweight division, and will attempt to defend her title for the sixth time. She’s won three of her last five fights via KO/TKO.
Lauren Murphy has put together a solid career in the UFC, but a win over Shevchenko this weekend would be one of the greatest upsets in the history of the sport. She’s won five straight fights with her latest coing via split decision against Joanne Calderwood at UFC 263 in June.
WynnBET has Shevchenko set as an overwhelming -1300 (bet $1,300 to profit $100) favorite against Murphy, who is set as a massive underdog at +800 (bet $100 to profit $800). The OVER/UNDER for the fight is set at 2.5, with each side given -110 odds.
