The UFC continues its schedule this weekend for UFC Vegas 33, set to be the 28th event on ESPN.

Uriah Hall is set to take on Sean Strickland in a five-round main event in the middleweight division. A bantamweight bout between Kyung Ho Kang and Rany Yahya will serve as the co-main event.

UFC Vegas 33 Pick: Hall vs. Strickland

Strickland is a stylistic nightmare for Hall, but nobody wants to lay -240 juice on a fight. If you’re looking for some better value, you can take Stickland to win via TKO at +175 instead.

Many people know Hall for his highlight reel knockouts, and for good reason, but when it comes to fight IQ and gameplans, Hall fails to reach his potential when he faces top tier competition. Before his latest four fight win streak, Hall was just 13-9 in his professional MMA career.

Meanwhile, Strickland is 23-3 in his career, but is an undefeated 18-0 in the middleweight division. His greatest strength is his ability to constantly put pressure on his opponents. He averaged an astounding 5.14 significant strikes per minute, which is bad news for Hall who only has a 53% significant strike defence.

Hall can find success when he fights opponents who are willing to stand at range with him, much like Anderson Silva did in October of last year. When fighters pressure him, his inability to properly use angles and cut off the cage is his downfall. Strickland’s constant pressure will keep him from being able to steady his feet and throw the power strikes he needs to in order to win the fight.

Strickland to win via TKO in this five round fight at +175 is one of the best bets you can make on Saturday night.
