One of the most impressive stories in college basketball this season is in the Colonial Athletic Association with North Carolina Wilmington jumping out to a 10-1 conference record.

The Seahawks have been dynamite, finding ways to win after a 3-5 start to the season and now are in poll position to have the No. 1 seed in the CAA Tournament. However, the betting market continues to install them as considerable underdogs, including at Hofstra on Monday.

While UNC Wilmington may have an inflated record due to some close wins, the team is crushing against the spread and I'm banking on them staying close yet again. Hofstra's defense is predicated around its ability to generate turnovers, best in CAA play. However, the Seahawks are the best team at protecting the rock and also have the 3-point prowess to outpace Hofstra's poor shooting.

UNCW is hitting on over 37% of their 3-point tries on a middling rate while Hofstra is shooting below 29% from 3 in conference play on the highest rate in conference play. Further, Hofstra doesn't generate second chances or free throw opportunities, weak points of the Seahawks defense.
