US Open Hole-in-One odds (Will someone record an ace at Los Angeles Country Club?)
The best golfers in the world are set to tee-off at Los Angeles Country Club on Thursday for this year's eidition of the U.S. Open.
I've already given you my best bets for the event, but let's take a look at the most electric prop bet you can place; whether or not someone will record a hole-in-one.
With no course history to rely on, it's going to make things a little bit more difficult. The Los Angeles Country Club has never hosted a men's professional event.
Regardless, I'm going to do my best to predict if an ace will be recorded. Let's take a look at the odds.
US Open Hole-in-One Odds
At those odds, I unfortunately have to wager on the "Yes" at -165. Let's take a look at the Par 3's this week:
- Hole 4: 228 yards
- Hole 7: 284 yards
- Hole 9: 171 yards
- Hole 11: 290 yards
- Hole 15: 124 yards
You're not just seeing things. There are five Par 3s this week, one more than the standard for most courses that host professional golf events.
With that being said, there are only two that I could imagine a hole-in-one on. The 9th hole and the 15th hole.
The 9th hole will play around 171 yards but the tee-box is around 15 feet above the green, and the green itself slopes from back to front. That's going tive the golfers chances to hit shots that will feed down to the hole for any pin placements that are in the bottom two thirds of the green.
Then there's the 15th hole, measuring at 124 yards that can play even short in certain conditions. It can play as short as 80 yards at times. I doubt the USGA will play it that short, but it's something to keep an eye on. I don't need to expand too much further on why this is a hole for a potential hole-in-one.
Keep an eye on a day where the pin is in the back right-corner, as the green can funnel down to that area.
So, with all of that in mind, give me the yes on an ace this week at -165.
