USC vs. Oregon State Prediction, Odds, Spread and Over/Under for College Football Week 4
By Reed Wallach
One of the most intriguing matchups on the Week 4 college football card starts at 9:30 EST with USC hitting the road for a PAC-12 showdown.
Oregon State is off to a 3-0 start and hasn't lost in Corvallis since the 2020 season. Can the team's dynamic offense go toe-to-toe with USC's star studded roster, headlined by Heisman Trophy candidate Caleb Williams?
Let's break down all the ins and outs of this game and find you the best bet:
USC vs. Oregon State Odds, Spread and Total
USC vs. Oregon State Betting Trends
- Since 2013, unders of 70 and above are hitting at a 55.2% rate (248-201-6)
- That number jumps to 56.1% in conference play (157-123-2)
- Oregon State is 16-12 against the spread (ATS) as a PAC-12 underdog under Jonathan Smith
USC vs. Oregon State Prediction and Pick
Both offense should dominate in this game as USC boasts arguably the most potent O in the country, but their defense is terrible at stopping the run. That can be problematic against a rush first Beavers offense.
The Trojans are bottom 40 in both yards allowed per carry and explosive rush defense, which will look to stay in front of a Beavers offense that is top 20 in explosive rush rate (and pass for that matter) and does a great job of winning in the trenches, allowing just two sacks through three games.
USC's offense will likely continue to find success against the Beavers mediocre defense that ranks 81st in defensive line yards and 91st in success rate.
However, I believe the Beavers can match the Trojans on offense and keep this to one score considering this team can't stay in front of everybody. I shared this sentiment on this week's Early Reed
Fresno State was covering until starting quarterback Jake Haener went down with an injury, and I believe Oregon State is live for an upset as well once again.
