Utah Jazz Are Overvalued in Latest Odds to Win Western Conference

If you’re perusing the NBA futures at WynnBET Sportsbook and thinking of placing a wager on the Utah Jazz, let me offer you a piece of advice:
Don’t.
It’s that simple. Just don’t.
Utah has fallen all the way to the No. 6 seed in the Western Conference, losing six of its last 10 games, and it’s being way overvalued in the futures market.

Utah? Fourth? You have got to be kidding me.
Yes, the Jazz have the No. 1 offensive rating in the NBA this season, but that number has dropped to 10th in the league over their 15 games, and the team hasn’t been nearly as good defensively this season as years past.
Plus, Utah has yet to clinch a playoff spot, and it technically could fall behind the No. 7 seeded Minnesota Timberwolves and into the play-in tournament with a poor finish to the season.
The benefit for the Jazz would be that they’d avoid the Phoenix Suns if they land in the No. 6 seed, but they also lost to the Stephen Curry-less Golden State Warriors on Saturday despite leading by double-digits at halftime.
FiveThirtyEight gives the Jazz just a seven percent chance to make the NBA Finals this season, which is lower than the Warriors, Grizzlies, Suns, Nuggets and tied with the Mavericks. Yet, the Jazz are fourth in the odds. For reference, a 7% chance translates to +1300 in the betting market.
When you look at Utah’s body of work with Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell, it makes it even easier to avoid this team to make the Finals.
Utah has never made the Western Conference Finals with this duo, and it blew a 3-1 first-round lead back in the 2020 NBA Playoffs before losing to a Kawhi-Leonard-less Los Angeles Clippers team in the second round last season.
The Jazz simply don’t have what it takes to win a title with this team, and their recent form (15th in net rating over their last 10 games) shows that they are fading at the worst time possible.
Don’t fall into the trap that Utah is still a top team in the West this season. It hasn't worked in the past when they had a high seed, so don’t expect Utah to pull off a magical run from the No. 6 seed in these playoffs.
