The Utah Jazz squandered a late series lead for the second straight season, exiting from the postseason with a dud to the Los Angeles Clippers last season, losing in six games.

While Utah’s Finals prospects may be lower than their regular season expectations, the team is loaded with talent.

Donovan Mitchell was playing at an elite level before an ankle injury hobbled him at the end of the Clippers series, he's well on his way to becoming a superstar, if he isn't already, he averaged 24 points, four rebounds, and five assists last season.

His running mate, Rudy Gobert, is as good of a rim protector as any in the league, but can he become a real threat on offense or remain on the floor in the postseason when team’s start to matchup hunt on the perimeter?

Those are the two stars of the team, but Bojan Bogdanovic is a lethal three-point shooter, 39% or better the last four seasons, Mike Conley provides a veteran presence in the backcourt, plus Joe Ingles is a frisky ball handler. The team also drafted Jared Butler in the second round, who can definitely outperform his draft position as a lead guard and plus-defender after a poor medical that has since been cleared.

Royce O’Neale emerged as a two-way threat last season, and the team added some nice bench pieces in the front court such as Rudy Gay.

Utah Jazz Win Total Prediction | 51.5 (Over -112/Under -108)

The Jazz had the best record in the NBA last season, yet are projected to fall way short of their win percentage. Last season Utah ripped off a 52-20 record, 72%, if you extrapolate that out to an 82 game season that comes out to about 59 wins.

The Jazz were top four in both offensive and defensive rating while posting the best net rating in the league, per NBA.com. This team was a monster in the regular season.

I don’t see that big of a drop off from a fully healthy Jazz team. I understand their lack of versatility come playoff time, but Mitchell is already on an elite trajectory and Gobert is a consistent All-Defensive player.

This win total needs to be closer to 55 wins for some reasonable regression to be factored in.

I love this over.
