San Diego State is the forgotten Mountain West contender, paced by the second best defense in the country, according to KenPom. Meanwhile, Utah State comes to town as one of the hottest teams in the conference as they try to push their name into the at-large discussion for the NCAA Tournament.

The team has won five of seven games as they hope some better health and a late season run. They were able to throttle the Aztecs while shorthanded in Logan earlier this season, 75-57 to start their recent five game winning streak. Can SDSU get them back on their home court? Here are the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook.

Utah State vs. San Diego State Odds, Spread and Total

Spread:

  • Utah State: +5 (-110)
  • San Diego State: -5 (-110)

Moneyline:

  • Utah State: +170
  • San Diego State: -210

Total: 128.5 (Over -110/Under -110)

Utah State vs. San Diego State Prediction and Pick

I am mildly concerned about San Diego State's ability to win with margin given they are outside the top 200 in KenPom's offensive efficiency, but the Aztecs should be able to get even with the Aggies at home on Tuesday night.

San Diego State has a suffocating defense that is top 10 in effective field goal defense and are generating turnovers at a top 40. Utah State's offense does take a ton of shots from the perimeter, but they miss their wing Brock Miller quite a bit, so they have become more of an interior based offense to much success, top 10 in the country in two-point offense.

However, the San Diego State defense is 11th in opponent's two-point field goal percentage. While the team may not be strong on offense, their defense is the best unit on the floor and will have plenty of motivation to beat Utah State after the loss last month in Logan, Utah.

I lean towards the Aztecs getting even and covering the spread.
