Utah vs. Florida Prediction: Utah to Drain the Swamp
Utah looks to start its season off right and keep its College Football Playoff hopes alive when it plays Florida in Week 1. The Utes are No. 7 in the AP Top 25 poll and are looking to stay in the top 10 as long as possible.
This is an SEC-Pac 12 matchup that can either derail Utah’s season or spring Florida into another great season. Which will it be?

Utah vs. Florida Updated Prediction and Pick
Earlier this week, Josh Yourish made his selection for the game, but decided to look towards the scoreboard.
“Now, Billy Napier comes to town after an incredible run at Louisiana and has Anthony Richardson at quarterback. Richardson only attempted 64 passes last year and is already considered a potential first round pick in the NFL draft. That’s how good he is. Napier brought in a lot of transfers from Louisiana on the offensive line and in the backfield. The team should become familiar with his system quickly and the offense could hit the ground running," Yourish said in his preview.
Cameron Rising really impressed for Utah especially in the Rose Bowl against Ohio State that ended 48-45. I could see a similar shootout in their 2022 opener.
While he’s looking towards the OVER, I’ll look to the spread and take Utah there.
The Pac 12 is wide open, but still has a clear favorite – and that’s Utah. The Utes combination of efficient rushing offense and a top 40 defense makes them a threat to dominate in any game. I think their rushing attack will be at the forefront of this game and push them to win by more than just a field goal.
