This week's Valero Texas Open will serve as a warm up for next week's Masters event for some, while for others it will be the final chance for them to qualify.

For us, it's a chance for us to bolster our bank roll until we unload it on the first major tournament of the year.

Let's take a look at the odds for this week's event at TPC San Antonio and then I'll break down my best bets.

Odds to win Valero Texas Open

Valero Texas Open best bet to win

Taylor Montgomery +2500

Taylor Montgomery is likely the leader in the race to win PGA Tour's Rookie of the Year. He has four Top 10 finishes on the season already, and has quickly established himself as one of the best putters on Tour.

His approach play has been an issue at time this season, but he dialed in his irons at Match Play last week, gaining +0.61 strokes on the field in that area. If he can keep his irons hot and putt like he has all season, Montgomery will be in contention on Sunday.

Nicolai Hojgaard +375

I've been a big believer in Nicolai Hojgaard for a while, and with a second place finish at last weeks' Punta Cana Championship, he proved he's ready to compete on the PGA Tour.

At just 22 years old, he already has two wins on the European Tour and has has five finishes of T13 or better in his last seven worldwide starts. As long as oddsmakers continue to undervalue him, I'll continue to bet on him.

Akshay Bhatia +400

Akshay Bhatia has been one of the best iron players on the PGA Tour so far this season, ranking 11th in strokes gained: approach. He struggles with his putting, ranking 175th, but at a non-elevated event like the Valero Texas Open, his iron play is good enough to carry him to a top 20 finish.

At +400, he's certainly worth a bet.
