Vanderbilt vs. Alabama Prediction, Odds, Spread and Over/Under for College Football Week 4
By Reed Wallach
The top of the SEC meets the bottom of the SEC in Tuscaloosa.
Alabama looks to start their third SEC Championship run in a row with a opening game against Vanderbilt, who went over their season win total of 2.5 last week with a win at Northern Illinois.
A successful non conference schedule is going to be a building block for the future for Vandy, but they are still in trouble when it comes to SEC play, starting with one of the two best teams in it. Let's check out the odds and find the best bet:

Vanderbilt vs. Alabama Prediction and Pick
Alabama won't be challenged much in this game, but this is a massive number to lay with a bunch of garbage time likely coming in the second half.
Vandy head coach Clark Lea has turned to A.J. Swann, a freshman, at quarterback and the Commodores offense has been in good shape thus far, top 50 in success rate and top 40 in havoc rate allowed. However, this is a serious jump in competition.
The Commodores offense has been in better shape than the defense, which is 94th in defensive line yards and 81st in yards per play. They allowed 31 points to Elon, 45 to Wake Forest, and were trailing by two possessions to Northern Illinois last week before the Huskies were forced to go to a backup quarterback and fell apart.
I think the Tide pushes 50 once again in this one and will look to their team total over. If you are afraid of garbage time and believe in Swann to hit a few deep shots late, the full game over is also worth a look.
