Vegas Believes Derrick Henry Three-Peats as Rushing Touchdown Leader

When it comes to the best running backs in the league, Derrick Henry has to be at least one of the first three names mentioned. Henry has led the league in rushing yards for the last two seasons, went for over 2,000 yards in 2020 and is expected to do the same in 2021. 

WynnBET has released its odds for who will lead the league in rushing touchdowns in 2021 and to no surprise, Henry is atop the list. Henry’s odds are set at +450, tied with Dalvin Cook. WynnBET already predicts that Henry will lead the league in rushing yards, with odds at +250. Adding the touchdown title just contributes to the growing legend Henry has created for himself.

A rushing touchdown title this year would give Henry a three-peat in the category, which hasn’t been done since Leroy Kelly from 1966-1968. Last season, Henry shared the title (16 TDs) with Aaron Jones of the Green Bay Packers. Coming into this season, Jones is tied with Saquon Barkley and Antonio Gibson with the eighth-best odds at +1750.

Tennessee has added serious firepower on the outside, trading for Julio Jones. Yet Henry is still the engine for that offense. Tennessee relies heavily on the play-action pass, which lends itself to the Titans getting Henry going early and often in each game.

At 6-foot-4, 240 lbs, Henry is the most physically imposing back in the league. Even if the Titans utilize the pass more this season, Henry is the best option down on the goal-line. Sometimes betting the favorite is the right move, and Henry seems to be the best option in 2021.
