Vegas Expects Darrell Henderson to Carry Load for Rams Post-Cam Akers Injury

Cam Akers was supposed to take over the backfield for the Los Angeles Rams, but now he and the Rams have to figure out what to do next.

Akers ruptured his Achilles and will miss the 2021 season.  Akers came on strong at the end of 2020 and was set to take the next step as the workhorse back in Sean McVay’s offense. WynnBET had set his odds to lead the league in rushing at +2000, which put him in the top 10 of that list.

Henderson wasn’t used heavily in the passing game, but was still efficient. He caught a mere 16 passes for 159 yards, which is close to 10.0 yards per catch. If the Rams choose to involve him in that aspect, Henderson could be a serious weapon for the Rams.

Henderson isn’t listed on WynnBET’s list to lead the league in rushing, but he is +4000 (bet $100 to profit $4,000) to lead the league in rushing touchdowns. Even if the Rams turn into an air-raid offense now that Matthew Stafford is there, Henderson will be valuable on the goal line and in short-yardage situations.

The Rams were set to have one of the most potent offenses in the league, and they might still be explosive with Henderson coming in to replace Akers.
