While the Denver Broncos are 1-1 this preseason under Nathaniel Hackett, they don’t seem to be valuing the preseason. We have yet to see Russell Wilson and we will have to keep waiting until Week 1. Brett Rypien has been named the starter this week against the Minnesota Vikings.

The Vikings under Kevin O’Connell have had a similar philosophy with Kirk Cousins. He did miss time with a positive COVID test, but was unlikely to play in the preseason regardless. We will almost certainly not see him and get more of Kellen Mond on Saturday.

Neither team seems to value the preseason, but that means there is value for you as a bettor, and you can find odds for this game at WynnBET Sportsbook

This line has moved a lot. The Broncos opened as 2.5 point favorites, but the WynnBET Sportsbook currently has it as a pick ‘em. The total has also come down from 38.5. This is likely due to the increased certainty that neither starting QB will play.

Vikings vs. Broncos Best Bet and Prediction

The total coming down does not scare me off. This game features two teams with new offensive schemes who are refusing to play their starting quarterbacks. The Vikings have scored 20 points and seven points in their two losses while the Broncos put up 17 and 15 in the two preseason games that they have split.

With Russell Wilson out, it will be Brett Rypien starting for Denver. He did go 22/26 for 191 yard and one touchdown a week ago in the blowout loss to Buffalo, but he just is not a huge threat to put up points.

Meanwhile, the Vikings will get more of Kellen Mond who went 10/20 for 82 yards and two picks a week ago. Mond and potentially Nick Mullens who has spent less than a week in the system will play.

It seems like both of these young coaches are looking ahead to the regular season and like many of the new age head coaches, they do not care about the preseason.

Pick: Under 36 (-110)
