The Minnesota Vikings are 6-1 and yet are in zero conversations as the best team in the NFL. They aren’t even talked about as the best team in the NFC. Frankly they aren’t even talked about at all. This is the most under the radar good team in the NFL and the Commanders might be one of the most on the radar bad teams. We know that Washington will always be in the news, but on the field it’s been for good reason. A three-game win streak with Taylor Heinicke at quarterback is reason to celebrate.

The 4-4 Washington Commanders are underdogs at home in Week 9, so let’s check out the odds and the movement on this game.

This line has gone from 3.5 to 3 in most books as the movement on this game settles. It originally opened as a pick ‘em.

Vikings vs. Commanders Prediction and Pick

I feel like I got Washington at a very good number earlier this week when I grabbed them at +3.5. Taylor Heinicke shouldn’t really strike fear in many opponents, but he Minnesota should be afraid this week. Heinicke isn’t afraid to push the ball downfield, last week he won the game for the Commanders on a deep shot that Terry McLaurin hauled in.

Minnesota’s defense is awful against the pass, they allow 7.7 yards per attempt and 68.9 completion percentage. They haven’t faced a lot of good teams this year and have only allowed nine touchdowns to seven interceptions. I don’t think you can be considered a good team and have the worst or second worst passing defense in the modern NFL.

Minnesota added TJ Hockenson this week who could be a nice addition to their offense, but they didn’t fix this defense and to me this team is a fraud. I won’t go back in unless I include Washington in some sort of parlay on the moneyline this week to try and get value, but my official pick is still the Commanders and the points.

Pick: Commanders +3.5 (-115)
