The Minnesota Vikings are in sole possession of the NFC North with a 4-1 record, and will now head to Miami to take on the Dolphins in an NFL Week 6 showdown.

There are still questions surrounding who will start at quarterback for the Dolphins this week. Tua Tagovailoa missed the Dolphins Week 5 game against the Jets due to concussion protocol, and then their backup, Teddy Bridgewater left the game early with a head injury of his own.

Skylar Thompson stepped in for Bridgewater. He finished the game 19-for-33 for 166 yards and an interception in the lost effort.

Let's take a look at the latest odds for the game, and then I'll give you my best bet.

Vikings vs. Dolphins Odds, Spread, and Total

Vikings vs. Dolphins Betting Trends

  • Vikings are 1-4 ATS in their last five games.
  • The OVER is 10-3 in the Viking's last 13 games.
  • Vikings are 1-5 ATS in their last six road games.
  • Dolphins are 10-4 TS in their last 14 games.
  • Dolphins are 8-0 straight up in their last eight home games.
  • Dolphins are 6-2 ATS in their last eight games against NFC opponents.

Vikings vs. Dolphins Prediction and Pick

Both teams have exactly what bettors are looking for when they want to bet the OVER.

The Dolphins are 5th in the NFL in yards per play this season, and the Vikings, while only ranking 16th, have shown they have the weapons and explosiveness to put up plenty of points. Then there's their defenses, which rank amongst the worst in the league.

The Vikings ranks 26th in opponent yards per play, allowing an average of 6.0 yards per snap. The Dolphins defense is even worse, allowing 6.1 yards per play. With both defenses ranking amongst the worst in the league, I expect the offenses to move the ball at will.

Let's also consider that the Dolphins defense ranks 30th in opponent yards per pass attempt. There's no reason why Justin Jefferson and company can't carve up this secondary.

I'll sit back and root for points in this interconference showdown.
