The No. 2 seeded Villanova Wildcats will take on the No. 11 Michigan Wolverines this week in Southern Region Sweet 16 action in Texas. Tip-off is at 7:29 p.m. EST on Thursday, March 24.

The Wildcats made it to this round with wins over No. 7 Ohio State and No. 15 Delaware. They won those games by a combined 31 points and look poised for a run to the Elite Eight.

Can they keep the streaking Wolverines off their backs long enough to advance?

Here is Villanova’s upcoming tournament schedule and odds for its Sweet 16 game via WynnBET

Villanova March Madness Schedule

A win from Villanova would move them into the Elite Eight and final round of region play in the South. It would be the first time Villanova reached the Elite Eight since they won the whole tournament back in 2018. They would face off against the winner of No. 1 Arizona and No. 5 Houston.

Michigan Wolverines vs. Villanova Wildcats Prediction and Pick

The Wildcats get their second Big Ten team in a row after nearly blowing out the Ohio State Buckeyes. Their first game was an easy one against Delaware. So, you could say Michigan presents the first potential challenge for Villanova. But is that really the case?

The only real threat that Michigan has in the eyes of Villanova is Hunter Dickinson. And he will be a problem for Villanova. You can be sure of that. But, is that enough? I’m not sold.

The Wildcat's offense is so good that the whole roster will provide problems for the Wolverines. Villanova is the eighth-best team in the nation in adjusted offensive efficiency at 118.3 points per 100 possessions. I think the odds here are a little higher than they should be and I’m happy to take the Nova as slight favorites.

Lean: Villanova -5 (-110)
