The 20-8 Miami Hurricanes hope for a similar result to their 78-75 victory last month when they host the 17-11 Virginia Tech Hokies today at 3:00 PM EST.

Miami has won and covered the spread in four of five, while the Hokies have won seven of eight after a three-game losing streak. Will the Hurricanes complete a season-sweep or does the value lie with Virginia Tech to exact revenge?

Here are the odds via WynnBET:

Virginia Tech vs Miami Prediction and Pick

Despite the string of wins, the Hokies have failed to cover the spread in two straight and have been middling on the road. They're 2-7 against the spread (ATS) in their last nine road games and are 1-4 ATS as an underdog this year.

Miami has struggled at home recently as well though. Covering just once in their last four games, the Hurricanes have been a much better team on the road than at home surprisingly. They've covered the spread in three of their last four as a favorite, however, and will look to utilize their 38th-ranked 2-point shooting percentage to punish the Hokies inside.

In the first matchup, both teams shot the ball extremely well. The Hurricanes were 11/18 from outside while the Hokies were 13/26. Virginia Tech has the 3rd-highest three-point shooting percentage in the country and should have similar success against Miami's 258th-ranked three-point shooting defense.

I think this sets up well for a season-sweep for Miami though. They need wins against quality opponents to ensure an NCAA tournament bid and their experienced roster should be focused. I like Miami to push Virginia Tech to 2-8 ATS over their last 10 road games and am riding with the Hurricanes.

Pick: Miami -1 (-110)
