Tampa Bay Rays shortstop Wander Franco, the No. 1 prospect in all of baseball, is set to make his major league debut tonight against the Boston Red Sox.

The Rays, who have lost six straight since Tyler Glasnow was injured, could use a pick-me-up from the 20-year-old Franco. So far in 39 games in Triple-A this season, Franco was hitting .315 with seven homers and 35 runs batted in.

There’s no question that the kid is a phenom, and WynnBET has released player props for his debut tonight. Franco has a total bases prop set at 1.5 with the over (+135) as the underdog to the under (-180). If you think Franco will at least get a single, he has -108 odds to do so.

The bases prop is really intriguing, especially because Franco would just need a double to hit the over. Betting on a single or double is tough, but at least with total bases, any hit will benefit you if you’re daring enough to take the over.

Boston is pitching lefty Eduardo Rodriguez on Tuesday. Rodriguez hasn’t been great this season, as he sports a 5-4 record with a 6.21 ERA. Opponents are hitting .297 off of Rodriguez this season, which is the worst mark of his career, and right-handed batters (.300) have fared even better against E-Rod.

Franco, a switch hitter, will be batting from the right side where he hit .304 in 56 at-bats in Triple-A this season. If you want a positive sign for Franco’s chances of hitting a double, over a third of the hits Rodriguez has given up to righties this season have gone for extra bases (eight homers and 19 doubles out of 65 hits).

The Rays clearly think that Franco is ready for the big stage, and if he continues to perform as well as he did in Triple-A, then Tampa Bay has a star on its hands.

If you’re all-in on Franco, taking the over on his bases prop seems to be the way to go tonight as the Rays try and get back on track.
