Warriors vs. Trail Blazers Prediction and Odds (Fade Blazers as Huge Underdogs)
By Peter Dewey
It’s been a rollercoaster season for the Portland Trail Blazers, but they went into the All-Star break on an extremely positive note, winning four straight games outright as underdogs. This came on the heels of a six-game losing streak where Portland failed to cover in every game.
However, Portland has been horrible against the spread when it loses games, going just 2-32 against the spread this season.
That could be a problem for Portland on Thursday against the Golden State Warriors, especially with Jusuf Nurkic out of the lineup.
Here are the odds for Thursday’s Western Conference matchup via WynnBET:
Warriors vs. Trail Blazers Odds, Spread and Total
Spread:
- Warriors -9.5 (-110)
- Blazers +9.5 (-110)
Moneyline:
- Warriors: -450
- Blazers: +360
Total:
- 222.5 (Over -110/Under -110)
Warriors vs. Trail Blazers Prediction and Pick
Portland has shown some serious fight since trading away C.J. McCollum, as Anfernee Simons is blossoming into a star in the making for the Blazers.
However, playing against the No. 1 defensive rating in the NBA could prove to be an issue for this Portland team, as it ranks 20th in offensive rating and 28th in defensive rating this season.
The Warriors limped into the All-Star break with some bad losses to the Los Angeles Clippers and Denver Nuggets, but I think they will turn things on in the home stretch with a chance to catch the Phoenix Suns now that Chris Paul is out.
I can’t get past this trend that the Blazers can’t cover when they lose, and I think Golden State is able to pull off the win, and the cover, on Thursday night.
Lean: Warriors -9.5 (-110)
