Washington State vs Oregon State Prediction and Odds (Cougars to Roll Against Auto-Fade Beavers)
By Joe Summers
We've got a battle of two teams struggling in worst way when the 3-24 Oregon State Beavers host the 15-13 Washington State Cougars tonight at 8:00 PM PST.
The Beavers have been maybe the best fade in all of college basketball this year. They're 7-18-1 against the spread (ATS) and 2-9 over their last 11, while the Cougars have won just one game in their previous seven tries and are on a 2-6 ATS run.
Which bad team will be less bad tonight? Does value lie with the Cougars to right the ship against the worst team in the Pac-12, or will the Beavers get a rare cover at home?

Washington State vs Oregon State Prediction and Pick
Look, I know Washington State is struggling and has only put up more than 70 points once in their last 11 games. And I know they haven't covered as a favorite in four straight and actually lost two of those outright. But this is Oregon State we're talking about here.
The Beavers have lost 14 straight thanks to one of the worst defenses in all of college basketball. They're 336th in defensive effective field goal percentage, 339th in 2-point shooting defense and 279th in 3-point defense. On the rare occasion their opponent isn't hitting shots, they surrender gobbles of second-chance opportunities with the 345th-ranked defensive rebounding percentage.
Washington State should feast on the boards with the 22nd-best offensive rebounding rate and rely on their 21st-ranked adjusted defensive efficiency to make life miserable for the Beavers. They've played tough competition lately with games against USC, UCLA and Oregon, and should be thanking the heavens for such a steep drop in competition.
It's like when you can't hit a shot to save your life so you just start shooting layups to get your groove back. Oregon State basically just lets everyone shoot layups the entire time. The Cougars are 5-2 ATS over their last seven road games and this sets up as a perfect bounce-back spot for a team that has underperformed.
Pick: Washington State -8 (-110)
