This is a classic late night on the east coast, Pac 12 who the hell knows what’s going to happen game. Washington State and Oregon State at 9 p.m. EST in Corvallis with the Cougars coming off a loss to USC that dropped them to 4-2 and the Beavers somehow moving to 4-2 with a 28-27 win over Stanford.

Washington State vs. Oregon State Prediction and Pick

Both of these teams are 4-2, yet neither has a win that is particularly impressive, and the best thing on both of their resumes is a close loss to a superior team. Oregon State hung with USC and only lost 17-14 and Washington State nearly pulled off a win in a shootout with Oregon.

Washington State absolutely cannot run the football, so the entire game will be on Cameron Ward’s shoulders. The Cougars are 119th in rushing yards per game with 100.3 yards, but this isn’t a Mike Leach team anymore, they are only 37th in passing offense. In their near win against Oregon, Ward threw for 375 and their leading rusher had 36 yards.

Oregon State has a pretty average passing defense, but when USC came up to Corvallis, Caleb Williams only threw for 180 yards and a touchdown.

That does make me want to ride with the Beavers, but in that same game Chance Nolan threw four picks, and Nolan is their best option at QB and probably won’t play due to injury.

We will likely get another look at Ben Guldbranson, who went 20-for-28 for 250 yards and two touchdowns against Stanford. I still trust Ward way more than whoever Oregon State trots out there, but with the Beavers at home and the line feeling like a bit of trap, I'll take Oregon State and hope its defense does enough.

Pick: Oregon State -3.5 (-110)
