Washington vs. Oregon State Prediction and Odds for Thursday, December 1 (Huskies Handle Beavers on the Road)

The Pac 12 is back, we’ve got conference play in college hoops and the conference out west is kicking it all off. The Washington Huskies went 6-1 in their non-conference schedule to begin the season while Oregon State found themselves at 3-4 with their most impressive outing a three-point loss to Duke, 54-51.
We’re now two years removed from the Beavers’ run to the Elite Eight in the 2021 tournament and things have gone terribly in Corvallis. They went 3-28 last season, so at least they’ve already matched that win total in 2022-23.
Oregon State got just one conference win last year, but maybe they could match that total tonight as a home underdog.

Oregon State relies on Jordan Pope to get everything done on the offensive end. He averages 15.9 points and 3.6 assists while shooting 48.1% from the field and 36.4% from three. The rest of the team’s shooting struggles are what accounts for their 67.4 points per game. They are 340th in the nation in three-point shooting, hitting just 28%. They’ll likely shoot it even worse because Washington’s length on defense has their opponents shooting 25.7% from behind the arc.
Washington got a very solid win against Seattle U on Monday, 77-66 and outside of Keion Brooks’ 20 point performance, the most encouraging thing was their passing. Coming into that game they had one of the lowest assist totals in the country, but they finished with 14 team assists. If their offense continues to move in that direction and stops relying on PJ Fuller II to do all the playmaking for others on offense, then they will have a solid Pac-12 season and cruise in their conference opener.
