Where do we start with the Washington Wizards?

A year after making it to the playoffs via the play-in tournament, the Wizards shipped Russell Westbrook to the Los Angeles Lakers for Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Montrezl Harrell. On top of those acquisitions, Spencer Dinwiddie was brought into the fold as well.

The Wizards have been an interesting team since Bradley Beal’s arrival. They had a few good years, but have also been towards the bottom of the Eastern Conference. The new arrivals should ensure the Wizards don’t fall off the face of the Earth, but there are several teams in the East that added stars or are getting their stars back. The Wizards lost one of theirs.

Hopefully, Washington can start to see growth this year from Rui Hachimura and Deni Avdija. Hachimura has been consistent in his two seasons in the league, but Washington needs a little more. The same goes for Avdija. He missed 18 games last season and averaged 6.3 points in the 54 games he did play.

Washington is in a constant state of change and rebuilding and this season seems to be no different.

WynnBET isn’t giving the Wizards much hope this season, but anything can happen right?

Washington Wizards Win Total Prediction | 33.5 (Over -125/Under +105)

I’m sorry to all the Wizards fans, but this is an easy under play for me. The Wizards won 34 games last year, and that was because Westbrook went nuclear towards the end of the year. The two seasons prior, they failed to reach 34 wins. Washington is going to rely on Bradley Beal to win them games and I don’t see this team being able to defend well enough or score enough to make this season a decent one.

Right now, the Wizards have a lot of guys that people know, but the names won’t lead to wins. Dinwiddie is coming off a partially torn ACL, Davis Bertans forgot how to shoot threes last season and they have a rookie head coach in Wes Unseld Jr.

Bradley Beal is going to be the same high-volume scorer he’s been for the last few years and might even compete for the scoring title. However, there are only a handful of teams with a bleaker outlook than the Wizards.

Anyone who follows the NBA semi-closely has wanted Bradley Beal out of Washington. This season might be the beginning of the end if a miracle doesn’t happen.

Washington Wizards Playoff Odds

WynnBET is giving the Wizards +475 odds to make the playoffs and -700 odds to make them. I’m going to side with the -700 odds. There’s too much competition in the East and Washington just doesn’t have the tools to compete.

The Wizards barely made it to the play-in and they still don’t have another star to pair with Beal. In the modern NBA multiple stars are needed to at least have a dream of competing. Beal is paired with Kuzma and Dinwiddie -- no disrespect to them -- so Washington won’t have a chance.
