It's time for the WCC Tournament, which is consistently dominated by the Gonzaga Bulldogs, but the defending NCAA Tournament runner up just lost last weekend on the road against Saint Mary's, is that creating betting value come conference tournament?

The Bulldogs are still the overwhelming favorite to cut down the nets in the WCC Tournament with the No. 1 ranking in KenPom as well as the best odds to win the National Championship. Despite formidable opponents like the aforementioned Gales, San Francisco and Santa Clara, this is setting up for another title for Mark Few's team.

Let's break down the Tournament field and see if there is any valuable bets to make, with odds courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook:

West Coast Conference Tournament Odds

  • Gonzaga: -400
  • Saint Mary's: +400
  • Santa Clara: +2000
  • San Francisco: +2500
  • BYU: +4000
  • Portland: +20000
  • San Diego: +20000
  • Loyola Marymount: +20000
  • Pacific: +50000
  • Pepperdine: +50000

West Coast Conference Tournament Standings and Bracket

Gonzaga and St. Mary's are on a crash course for the WCC Finals as they are set to have byes to the semifinals. BYU has struggled down the stretch and only receive one bye and will be playing for their NCAA Tournament lives, but will be facing a San Francisco team that needs to keep winning to ensure their bid. The loser of that potential matchup is likely not making the Field of 68.

West Coast Conference Tournament Schedule (Dates, Times, Channel)

The West Coast Conference starts on Thursday, March 3 and runs through Tuesday, March 8 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The semifinals and finals on March 7 and 8 will be aired on ESPN2.

West Coast Conference Tournament Prediction and Pick

As the odds indicate, Gonzaga should roll to a conference championship. At -400, there may be betting value from the other bracket, which I will hit on in the next section, but the Zags should have little issue disposing of their two opponents no matter who they are.

The Bulldogs have the best adjusted efficiency margin per KenPom by a wide margin and won by an average margin of 25 points. Well rested and focused for an NCAA Tournament run expect to see Chet Holmgren and the Zags roll in Vegas.

Don't lay the juice with Gonzaga at this price, but I'm telling you to be careful betting into this market.

West Conference Tournament Dark Horse

If there's a team worth throwing some pizza money on it's Santa Clara at +2000.

They likely won't win, but they have an easy path to the semifinals where they play a Saint Mary's team that they split with in the regular season. The Broncos play fast, 24th in the country, which counters the Gaels methodical pace. Further, they are a top 10 three-point shooting club and are great at protecting the rock, top 50 in turnover rate.

A potential matchup with Gonzaga will result in a likely loss, but if you want to take a stab on a 20-1 shot, look to Santa Clara.
