The West Virginia Mountaineers took a loss at home last week against the then-No. 11 Oklahoma State Cowboys, 24-3. West Virginia had been playing solid football, winning against TCU and then No. 22 Iowa State in the two weeks prior to last week’s loss. 

The Kansas State Wildcats picked up an easy road win over the Kansas Jayhawks in Week 10, and have now won three in a row. It was the second time this season that the Wildcats have sprung together three straight wins.

WVU’s rushing offense has been way worse compared to recent years, and they will struggle to move the ball on the ground against Kansas State’s 20th-ranked rushing defense that is only allowing 117.3 rushing yards per game. 

Both the Mountaineers’ and Wildcats’ defenses have been solid all season, so when these two teams meet, the score is usually under the total points set by the sportsbook, and it appears to be trending that way again.

West Virginia quarterback Jarret Doege has been more effective under center than Kansas State’s Skylar Thompson, so while both running games can be thwarted, WVU may move the ball down the field better through the air. 

This will be a close game, so I like the Mountaineers on the spread and the under.
