West Virginia vs. Oklahoma Prediction and Odds (Big 12 Basement-Dwellers Battle it Out in OK)
By Matt De Saro
The West Virginia Mountaineers have seen the wheels blow off their season and enter tonight on a six-game losing streak. Not to be outdone, The Oklahoma Sooners have lost six of their last seven after grabbing a rare win over the weekend against Oklahoma State. The Sooners and Mountaineers sit at 9th and 10th in the Big 12 respectively and have nothing more to play for at this point aside from a smidge of pride. On a positive note, these two teams match up quite well so we should be in for an entertaining game. Here are the odds for this battle of the Big 12 basement dwellers, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.

West Virginia vs. Oklahoma Prediction and Pick
Despite their extended losing streak, the West Virginia Mountaineers are still playing hard until the final whistle. This is evidenced by their last two games, against Iowa State and No. 20 Texas, which were lost by a combined four points. It’s amazing to think that a team that hasn’t won in weeks almost picked off a top 20 team. The Mountaineers covered those two games as well as single-digit underdogs. While their 3-11 ATS record in their last 14 is obviously terrible, the Mountaineers seem like a team that is going to end the season swinging.
I am not sure the same can be said for the Sooners who are 1-3 ATS in their last four games heading toward the finish line. With just two games left, the only thing Oklahoma really has to fight for is to not fall to the No. 10 spot in the conference by losing to West Virginia.
Whether or not their hearts are totally in this one, it’s clear that the Sooners have an edge on the court in a number of areas. This is certainly the case with the Oklahoma defense that ranks 39th in the nation in scoring. The Mountaineers rank 144th in that metric and don’t have an offense to make up for it. They average less than 69 points on offense which puts them at 221st in the nation. They also can’t rebound (292nd), shoot the ball effectively (298th) and their free throw shooting is, to say the least at 71.6 percent. Oklahoma is no basketball powerhouse but they are a more talented team that has the fundamentals of basketball down. Which is more than I can say for their opponents tonight.
Pick: Oklahoma -5.5 (-110)
