Garrett Greene has replaced JT Daniels at West Virginia and given the Mountaineers some life, but they still fell to K-State, 48-31 last week. WVU is 4-7 now and could potentially be moving on from Neal Brown in the coming weeks. Oklahoma State is obviously sticking with Mike Gundy, but they can’t be happy going 1-3 in their last four weeks and slipping out of the top 25 at 7-4. Last week, they couldn’t even salvage a win in Bedlam as they lost to OU, 28-13.

The Big 12 looked like it had multiple contenders this year and it looked like Oklahoma State was one of them, but the Cowboys crashed down to earth. Now, they are barely a touchdown favorite over West Virginia.

West Virginia vs. Oklahoma State Prediction and Pick

Spencer Sanders threw four interceptions last week against Oklahoma and the Sooners have one of the worst defenses in the entire country. It was a horrible performance from a good quarterback. Even though the end of the season has been ugly, I expect him to bounce back some because we’ve got two bad defenses in this one. The Cowboys are 117th in total D and West Virginia is 104.

Garrett Greene improved the Mountaineers offense and I expect them to be able to score this week. K-State was able to limit Greene on the ground as he was held to 17 rushing yards on 12 attempts, but his legs are his biggest threat.

It is good to stay away from narratives when it comes to gambling, but honestly it seems like Oklahoma State has packed it in for the year. The Cowboys had a lifeless performance against their fierce rivals and I don’t see a world where they really get up for this one. Their defense is susceptible to the run and horrible against the pass, West Virginia will want to see what it has in Garrett Greene and that is enough for me to side with the Mountaineers.

Pick: WVU +9.5 (-109)
