It's been a couple of bounces, but ultimately Texas is not back. The team is 2-2 despite losing by both by a combined four points against Alabama and Texas Tech.

The Longhorns aren't finished in Big 12 play, but need to make up ground and that starts with a visit from West Virginia on Saturday. Will Quinn Ewers return under center from a shoulder injury or will it be Hudson Card again? We got it all for you in our game preview:

West Virginia vs. Texas Prediction and Pick

It's unclear if Ewers, who suited up last week, will return to the Longhorns starting lineup, but Card proved to be capable under center for the Longhorns. UT hung 34 points on Texas Tech, but some conservative play calling late in the game cost them a road victory against Texas Tech.

West Virginia's defense can be had, allowing nearly three points per drive, below the national average and is especially poor at stopping the run, ranking bottom 15 in explosive rush defense. Bijan Robinson should go wild against this Mountaineers defense on Saturday night.

However, the West Virginia offense should go toe-to-toe with Texas. JT Daniels has been strong this season and the Mountaineers offense has looked the part, putting up points on two solid ACC defenses in Pittsburgh and Virginia Tech. Overall, the unit is averaging more than six yards per play (44th in the country) and have allowed the 14th fewest tackles for loss.

Texas defense has a solid defensive front, but they don't force a ton of turnovers, only two on the season and the West Virginia passing game should be able to stretch the field against a UT defense.

I think this one has shootout written all over it.
