Bowling Green hosts Western Michigan in one of two Wednesday MACtion games.

Bowling Green is one game off the pace in the MAC East division while Western Michigan is 2-2 in a crowded MAC West race with all teams chasing Toledo. Who can take a step forward as a MAC contender on Wednesday? We got you covered:

Western Michigan vs. Bowling Green Prediction and Pick

While Bowling Green has been cashing as an over team this season, we may see a rock fight on our hands on Wednesday night. The Falcons offense leaves a ton to be desired, outside the top 100 in success rate and yards per carry. They will be facing a relatively solid Western Michigan defense, especially for MAC standards, who is has 55 tackles for loss this seas (19th in the country) and is top 20 at limiting explosive run plays as well.

The Bowling Green offense has been hit or miss in MAC play, scoring 31 and 34 against Akron and Central Michigan but only seven and 13 against Toledo and Miami (Ohio). I lean towards WMU's defense showing out on the road.

As for the Broncos offense, it's in a dire spot, as the team benched Week 1 starter Jack Solpek in favor of a true freshman Treyson Bourguet, who passed for 123 yards in his debut against Miami (Ohio), a 16-10 win.

Bowling Green's defense should also have a field day in this one. The unit has 32 sacks on the season and has forced 16 turnovers on the season.

With a low total like this, two opportunistic defenses can create short fields for their poor offenses, but I'm going to take the under in a game that should feature plenty of conservative play calls that are from behind the sticks due to dominant defensive play.
