When Is Bogdan Bogdanovic Coming Back for the Atlanta Hawks?
By Peter Dewey
The new-look Atlanta Hawks have gotten out to a strong start in the 2022-23 season, but they aren't even at full strength yet.
Atlanta has been without sharpshooting wing Bogdan Bogdanovic, who is recovering from a knee injury. Bogdanovic hadn't been given an exact timetable to return this season, but a recent update shines light on the progress he's made towards getting back on the floor.
Latest Injury Update for Bogdan Bogdanovic
While there still isn't an exact timetable for when Bogi will return to action, it appears he is making a positive step by working out pregame.
Once he is integrated back into practices, the ramp up to a return to the floor should be the next step in his recovery.
The Hawks have relied on a plethora of players in the absence of Bogdanovic, with Justin Holiday, Jalen Johnson and A.J. Griffin joining De'Andre Hunter as options on the wing.
Bogdanovic's injury can be looked at as a bit of a silver lining for the Hawks, as it allowed the opportunity for Griffin and Johnson, the team's last two first-round picks, to prove if they can contribute this season.
Last season, Bogdanovic played a major role for Atlanta averaging 15.1 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.1 asissts per game in mainly a bench role. He's a career 38.4 percent shooter from beyond the arc.
