When Is Cam Johnson Coming Back for the Phoenix Suns?
By Peter Dewey
Phoenix Suns forward Cam Johnson finally cracked the team's starting lineup this season, starting his first eight games before going down with a torn meniscus.
Losing Johnson is a major blow for the Suns, who were already thin on the wing with Jae Crowder holding out from the team until the two sides can find a trade.
Phoenix has started hot once again the 2022-23 season, but can it withstand a lengthy injury for Johnson? Here's the latest on when he can return:
Latest Injury Update for Cameron Johnson
The Suns got some good news on Tuesday, as Johnson underwent surgery on his torn meniscus that should allow him to return to action in 1-2 months. That would put his latest return date at early in the new year.
For the time being, the Suns are starting Torrey Craig at the forward spot, and they will likely play more of Damion Lee and Landry Shamet off the bench to replace Johnson's shooting.
Cam Johnson Injury History
Johnson has been relatively healthy in his NBA career, appearing in at least 57 games in each season.
Last season, Johnson played in 66 games for the Suns, making 16 starts. He missed time with an ankle injury in early January, but he returned for the remainder of the 2021-22 campaign.
