When Is Khris Middleton Coming Back for the Milwaukee Bucks This Season?
By Peter Dewey
The Milwaukee Bucks' playoff run in the 2021-22 NBA season was cut short, partly because of a knee injury to All-Star wing Khris Middleton.
That wasn't the only injury that Middleton was dealing with, as he had surgery on his wrist in the offseason that knocked him out of the entire preseason. Now, it appears that Middleton will miss some time to start the 2022-23 season, leaving a lot of weight on Giannis Antetokounmpo's shoulders early on.
Latest Injury Update for Khris Middleton
Middleton reportedly won't play to star the season and is expected to miss the first few weeks as he comes back from offseason wrist surgery.
The Bucks, who are currently the favorite to win the NBA Finals, are clearly making sure Middleton is fully healthy before returning him to the lineup. Milwaukee should be fine even if he's out early, but the Bucks need him in the playoffs.
The three-time All-Star averaged 20.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game last season while shooting 44.3 percent from the field and 37.3 percent from beyond the arc.
Middleton is clearly the No. 2 offensive option for the Bucks, so the team will lean on Bobby Portis. Jrue Holiday and others to pick up the slack scoring until he returns.
