The Los Angeles Kings are back in the postseason for the first time in three years as they take on the Edmonton Oilers tonight at 10:00 PM EST.

After finishing the regular season third in the Pacific Division with a 44-27-11 record, the Kings are sizeable underdogs in their first round series.

BetSided's Iain MacMillan likes the value on Los Angeles, but let's take a look at the Kings vaunted playoff history ahead of this playoff battle:

When Was the Last Time the Kings Won the Stanley Cup?

The Kings last won the Stanley Cup in 2014, knocking off the Rangers 4-1 in the championship series.

That was Los Angeles' second title in three seasons, as they hoisted the Cup in 2012 as well. They've only made the postseason twice since then and lost in the first round both times, so they're seeking their first playoff series victory since winning it all in 2014.

In 1993, the Kings lost in the Stanley Cup Finals, but otherwise have never advanced past the Conference Finals.

Kings Odds to Win Western Conference, Stanley Cup

WynnBET Sportsbook currently has the Kings listed at +2000 to win the Western Conference and +5000 to win the Stanley Cup.

Los Angeles is tied with Dallas for the worst odds to win the West and has the second-worst odds to win the Stanley Cup.

But they've won as large underdogs before and come into the postseason hot, having won five of their final six games of the regular season. They lost to the Oilers all three times they played each other this year though, so they'll need to conjure up some magic to emerge from their first series unscathed.

If the Kings beat Edmonton, they'll take on the winner of the Flames vs Stars series. Head on over to WynnBET if you like the Kings' chances to pull off the upset ahead of tonight's first game.
