Duke is entering the final stages of one of the most illustrious runs in college basketball history.

As we head to the Sweet 16 of the 2022 NCAA Tournament, the storylines will focus on the Duke Blue Devils and their head coach Mike Krzyzewski, who is in the final season of his career. Coach K has led the program to five National Championships since taking over in 1980.

When was the last time Coach K and the Blue Devils cut down the nets? Let's go back before we look ahead to what could be the winningest coach in college basketball history final game.

When Was the Blue Devils’ Last National Championship

Duke has won five championships under Coach K, but haven't won one since 2015, when the Jahlil Okafor led Blue Devils knocked off Wisconsin.

It has been quite the run for Duke, though, winning their first National Championship in 1990 under Krzyzewski's tutelage. Since then, the team won again in 1991, 2001 and 2010. The team is currently tied for fourth all time in terms of NCAA Tournament titles behind UCLA, Kentucky and North Carolina.

Duke's Odds to Win National Championship

The Blue Devils are the No. 2 seed in the West Region, the same as No. 1 overall seed Gonzaga, and are +750 to win four more games and cut down the nets in Coach K's final season at WynnBET Sportsbook.

Duke's path to the title is very difficult, though, as they are slated to face No. 3 Texas Tech in the Sweet 16, a game in which they are a one-point underdog. The Red Raiders bolster the best defense in the country per adjusted defensive efficiency, according to KenPom, and can give Duke's offense around potential No. 1 pick Paolo Banchero fits.

If the Blue Devils advance, a rematch against Gonzaga, a team they beat back in November on a neutral floor, awaits in the Elite 8.

The talent is there for Duke to send their head coach out on a high note, but it won't be easy with their projected path.
