The Atlanta Hawks vaunted themselves into the NBA playoffs with a sterling performance from Trae Young in the Play-In Tournament. They now find themselves down 1-0 to the No. 1 seed Miami Heat but will have an opportunity to even the series tomorrow night at 7:30 PM EST.

Atlanta started the season slow, but came on strong at the end of the year thanks to Young and a potent offense.

After making the Eastern Conference Finals last season, the Hawks hope for an even better finish this year. But it begs the question, when is the last time the Hawks won the Finals?

When Was the Last Time the Atlanta Hawks Won the NBA Finals?

While the franchise won a championship as the St. Louis Hawks back in 1958, the Hawks have never won the NBA Finals since relocating Atlanta.

They lost in the Eastern Conference Finals last season and in 2015, but otherwise haven't made it out of the second round since 1970. While it's a tall task to down the Heat, Atlanta is hopeful Young can propel them to new heights and finally return to the NBA Finals.

Hawks Odds to Win the NBA Championship, Eastern Conference

WynnBET Sportsbook currently has the Hawks listed at +6000 to win the Eastern Conference and +10000 to win the NBA Finals. They have the worst odds in the East to win the title and will need to pull off a miracle to hoist the Larry O'Brien trophy.

They've certainly got the offense to do it, though. Atlanta finished the season ranked second in offensive rating but just 26th in defensive, so they'll need to tighten up on that end to have a chance to unseat Miami.

If they can make it past the Heat, the Hawks will take on the winner of the 76ers vs Raptors series in the second round.
