When Was the Last Time Villanova Made the Final Four?
By Joe Summers
The Villanova Wildcats are one of the most successful programs in men's D1 college basketball over the last 10 years.
With their victory over Houston, Jay Wright's group is in the Final Four for the third time in the last five NCAA tournaments, and will take on the winner of Kansas vs Miami (FL).
Now, they hope to keep winning and add to the trophy case, but when was the last time they actually won it all?
When Was the Wildcats’ Last National Championship?
Villanova last won the NCAA tournament in 2018 with a drubbing of Michigan in the title game, but they won it just two years prior as well in one of the greatest finishes in March Madness history:
This is the program's seventh Final Four. They're 4-2 in their previous six trips, with their only losses coming in 2009 and 1939.
Villanova’s Odds to Win National Championship
WynnBET Sportsbook has the Wildcats listed at +350 to win the National Championship. These are the third-lowest odds in the field, behind only Duke (+160) and Kansas (+260).
Villanova is one of the most balanced teams remaining, ranking 9th offensively and 17th defensively in KenPom's metrics. They've covered the spread in each NCAA tournament game so far and have won nine in a row outright.
Even more impressive is Jay Wright's recent success in the tournament with the Wildcats. Over their last 15 NCAA Tournament games, Villanova is 13-2 outright and against the spread.
