White Sox vs. Braves prediction and odds for Saturday, July 15 (Braves win big)
If anyone was hoping the All-Star break would give the Chicago White Sox a chance to regroup and come out strong in the second half of the season, dreams of that were quickly shutdown when the Atlanta Braves blanked them 9-0 on Thursday night.
The White Sox now need to take on the Braves against in Game 2 on Saturday. Can they get revenge? I don't think so.
Let's dive into the odds for this interleague matchup and then I'll give you my best bet.
White Sox vs. Braves odds, run line, and total
White Sox vs. Braves prediction and pick
There is no other bet to make in this game than to bet on the Braves to not only win, but win with margin. I'm going to back them on the -1.5 run line which means we need them to win by at least two runs for our bet to cash.
I don't think that's going to bet much of an issue.
Spencer Strider, with his 11-2 record, will take the mound for the Braves on Saturday evening. He'll get to face a White Sox team that's 24th in the Majors in OPS over the last 30 days, while also ranking 25th in strikeout percentage.
That's good news for Strider, who has been averaging 14.9 strikeouts per nine innings, the most in baseball.
Chicago won't be putting up much of a fight with Lance Lynn on the mound. He's been abysmal this season with a 6.03 ERA.
I expect the Braves to win from start to finish in this one.
