White Sox vs. Rangers Prediction and Odds for Saturday, August 5 (Horseshoes, Hand Grenades, and Run Line Dogs)
By Josh Yourish
The Chicago White Sox are 2.5 games back of a Wild Card spot and are 6-4 in their last 10 games. They have split the first two games of this four-game series with the Texas Rangers and trot out Michael Kopech on Saturday night. Dane Dunning goes for the Rangers, who are 47-59 and out of playoff contention.
Texas is hoping to play spoiler, but hasn’t gotten the job done yet. They have had back-to-back series with teams just outside the AL Wild Card race and started that homestand by getting swept by the Orioles. Chicago is 54-52 and in dire need of these next two games. Though they aren't far behind a Wild Card spot, a division title might be their best path to the postseason.

White Sox vs. Rangers Prediction and Pick
Football season is right around the corner and in football, we always talk about one score games and how they can be the story of a team’s season. Close games are a coin flip in many ways and the Texas Ranger’s season would be a lot different if they had come out on the winning side of one run games. They are 5-24 in games decided by one run that includes a 1-1 record in this series alone.
They are a home underdog in this game with Dane Dunning pitching. He is by no means a star, he is 1-6 with a 4.30 ERA this year, but he is good enough to keep it close against Michael Kopech and the White Sox.
The Rangers are 12-19 when they are a home underdog, but have a 19-9 record against the run line when they are a home dog. You know what they same, close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades and run line best, and they’re the kings of keeping it close.
Pick: Rangers +1.5 (-170)
