White Sox vs. Tigers Prediction and Odds for Monday, June 13 (Don't Expect Lance Lynn to Save Chicago)
By Reed Wallach
It's all doom and gloom for the White Sox this season, but can the return of one of their best arms reignite the roster?
Lance Lynn is set to make his season debut after being a Cy Young candidate in 2021, as he looks to get the White Sox back on track. He will start against one of the worst offenses in the big leagues in the Tigers, and he is priced as a road favorite.
What can we expect on Monday? Let's check out the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook:
White Sox vs. Tigers Odds, Run Line, Total
Run Line:
- White Sox: -1.5 (+127)
- Tigers: +1.5 (-155)
Moneyline:
- White Sox: -127
- Tigers: +117
Total: 8 (Over -120/Under +100)
White Sox vs. Tigers Prediction and Pick
It may not be pretty, but you may want to plug your nose and look to the Tigers in Lynn's first start. He struggled in his 3 minor league stints rehabbing his torn meniscus, allowing 10 runs on 15 hits in 10 innings. We'll see how many innings he can give, but I'm not confident in his ability to pitch effectively and at length.
Meanwhile, this could be the time to buy Tigers starter Rony Garcia. He has an ERA at 4.50 in 3 starts (11 appearances), but his FIP indicates he can be due for some positive variance at 3.85. He has some positive indicators, like a strikeout rate of nearly 11 batters per 9 innings and walking just 2.3 per 9 this season. The White Sox are 25th in walk rate since the start of June, and I'm expect Garcia to avoid trouble on the base paths.
I'll take a shot on the home underdog here with the White Sox's tensions boiling over with the potential firing of Tony La Russa looming over the roster. Not even Lynn's return can get this team going.
LEAN: Tigers +117
