A pair of American League Central foes get set to meet in Minnesota on Friday night with two promising young pitchers on the mound.

Bailey Ober draws the start for the Minnesota Twins as he looks to build on his strong start, but will have a tough test against a strong Chicago White Sox lineup that will counter with upstart Michael Kopech.

Which side is worth a bet? Let's take a look at the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook first before breaking down this pitcher's duel:

White Sox vs. Twins Odds, Run Line, Total

Run Line:

  • White Sox: +1.5 (-200)
  • Twins: -1.5 (+165)

Moneyline:

  • White Sox: -105
  • Twins: -110

Total: 7.5 (Over -110/Under -110)

White Sox vs. Twins Prediction and Pick

Bailey Ober is the most promising young pitcher in the Twins big league rotation, and he is certainly living up to the hype in his second season. He has an ERA of 3.27 and a FIP (Fielding Independent Pitching) below 4 as well, meaning that he is pitching to expectation early on.

On the other side, Michael Kopech has looked dynamite to start the season, allowing 1 run in 9 innings so far this season. However, he has walked 4 batters and has a FIP closer to 3, meaning that he can be in line for a (predictable) step back in terms of runs allowed.

If Kopech puts runners on the bases the Twins should be able to cash in with their hitting in the middle of the order. It hasn't come to fruition just yet, Minnesota is 21st in on-base percentage, but is on the wrong side of some poor variance. The team is hitting just .249 on balls in play, so they are making contact but fielding has played a role.

I trust Ober to keep it rolling at home while Kopech may be in line for a drop in production after a strong start.

LEAN: Twins ML -110
