The annual Hall of Fame Game took place last week between the Cowboys and Steelers, but today the rest of the NFL kicks off their preseason schedule. NFL football is officially back.

One of the games on tonight’s slate is the Washington Football Team vs. the New England Patriots. Washington is going to have its first look with new quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick and the Patriots are going to trot both Cam Newton and Mac Jones out onto the field.

Although many of the starters won’t play major minutes, it will still be exciting to see who will break out.

WynnBET has set props for who will break out first and score the initial touchdown of the game. These types of bets are very unpredictable, but there could be some good value involved.

Odds to Score First in the Washington/New England Game

  • Antonio Gibson: +1000
  • Logan Thomas: +1200
  • Damien Harris: +1200
  • Sony Michel: +1500
  • N’Keal Harry: +1500
  • Jonnu Smith: +1500
  • Field: +1500
  • J.D. McKissic: +2000

Although Antonio Gibson has the shortest odds, there isn’t a clear favorite here. Because of that, everyone has decent value.

Washington has been open about how much they want to use Gibson this year and that plan could start tonight. If you take Gibson, it wouldn’t be a bad pick considering Fitzpatrick might not be in the game for that long.

My best value of the night would be Sony Michel. Many of the other props WynnBET has posted show that Damien Harris will command the starting running back role during the season. With that in mind, Harris’ night could be over early due to the Patriots trying to preserve his health.

The Patriots had a run-first offense last year and it isn’t likely they would sway from that strategy with Newton still at quarterback. Newton will probably see limited time as well, which means Mac Jones will be running the show. Michel will provide a good option on the ground for Jones and be an integral part of the Patriots offense tonight.
