Game 1 of the NBA Finals is finally upon us. After an injury-riddled playoffs, the Suns and Bucks are the last two teams standing.

The Finals are where the stars shine and matchups inside the matchups are just as important and interesting. For Game 1, the key matchup is between Devin Booker and Khris Middleton.

WynnBET has Booker’s player prop for points set at 28.5, with the under (-116) slightly favoring the over (-104). Middleton’s line is set at 27.5 points, but has the same odds as Booker.

With those two props so close together, it sets up a duel of who will score more points. For Game 1, I’m taking Devin Booker.

In these playoffs, Booker has been a better scorer than Middleton. He’s taken more shots, scored more points, and has been more efficient. Booker is averaging 28.3 points per game on 20.0 shots and 47.9% shooting from the field. Middleton is only scoring 23.4 points per game on 19 shots and 43.4% overall.

Although Middleton now has more opportunities due to Giannis Antetokounmpo’s injury, he has dealt with shooting woes throughout the playoffs, especially in Game 1s. He has shot 6-for-23 in his last two Game 1s.

Booker has also been struggling from the floor, but it has been mainly due to his broken nose. After the initial injury, Booker was on his way to returning to his usual form. His scoring output went up in Games 3-5, before Game 6.

With a little rest, Booker is poised to get back to his normal self, which includes him scoring at a high rate. Game 1 is at home in “The Valley.” where he has scored more points than on the road, and I expect Booker to put on a show.
