Who Will Have More Receiving Yards: Ja’Marr Chase or Tyler Boyd?
The Cincinnati Bengals spent their top draft pick this season and got Joe Burrow some help on the outside by drafting his college teammate Ja’Marr Chase. With Chase’s arrival, the Bengals have a budding wide receiver trio with great potential.
WynnBET sees Tee Higgins, last year’s breakout star, as the lead receiver this season. Higgins has +5000 odds to lead the league in receiving yards in 2021. Higgins finished last season with 108 targets, 67 catches and 908 receiving yards.
Now that Burrow is back and healthy, he and Higgins’ chemistry should only grow.
With Higgins set to be the top receiver, the real battle is between Chase and Tyler Boyd for the No. 2 receiver. Both have +6000 odds to lead the league in receiving yards. Boyd had a down year in 2020. After consecutive 1,000 yard seasons, Boyd only had 841 yards and four touchdowns.
Chase is set to play meaningful football for the first time since he and Burrow helped LSU win the National Championship in 2019. He sat out the 2020 season to prepare for the draft and now he’s in Cincy.
While Boyd has shown that he’s capable of being a reliable target for Cincinnati, I’m taking Chase to catch more yards. His chemistry with Burrow will carry over to the pros along with his explosiveness. The Bengals need a deep threat to truly unlock their offense and Chase fits the mold more than Boyd.
I’m taking Chase to be the No. 2 receiver, but all of these receivers are in the same range and could easily end up being the No. 1 option. With that being said, the order will be as follows: Higgins, Chase, Boyd.
