This preseason has been all about the quarterback battle for the Denver Broncos. Drew Lock and Teddy Bridgewater both had decent showings in the first preseason game, but no decision was made. While the two quarterbacks are battling it out, their receivers are also trying to figure out who will be the top dog.

WynnBET is giving Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton the same odds (+15000) to lead the league in receiving. Both are longshots to be first in the league, but those odds signal a receiver competition.

Both receivers are using 2021 as a bounce back season. Sutton is coming off an ACL injury that he suffered in Week 2 of last season. 2020 was supposed to be a season to prove he wasn’t a one-hit wonder after his 2019 campaign. Sutton caught 72 passes for 1,112 yards and six touchdowns during that season.

Jeudy is trying to rebound from a subpar rookie season. Jeudy had 52 catches for 856 yards and three touchdowns. For many other receivers, that line would be good. However, the issue with Jeudy is that his catch rate was 46%. Obviously, that number isn’t all his fault, but it does need to be improved.

Although they are both good receivers, I’m putting my faith in Jeudy. Right now, it’s looking like Lock is listed as the starter, which gives Jeudy a leg up. He will be going into a second consecutive season with Lock as his quarterback. Sutton has played with Lock, but Jeudy has momentum and is progressing with him.

Jeudy also looked good in the first preseason game. He had one catch for 33 yards, but it highlighted everything that makes Jeudy a great receiving prospect.

Jeudy is explosive and should be on the shortlist for receivers to breakout this season.
