Who Will Score More Points: Deandre Ayton or Jrue Holiday?

For both the Suns and Bucks, it’s been apparent all year who the No. 3 option has been. Jrue Holiday was brought in to help Milwaukee get to this exact point and Deandre Ayton has been proving why he was a No. 1 overall pick.

While scoring may not be the main attribute that comes to mind when you think of them, their points are much needed by their teams. With their playoff scoring averages being less than a point apart, that brings a great opportunity to watch their scoring battle in Game 2.

WynnBET has set Holiday’s player prop for points at 19.5 with the under (-125) favoring the over (+100). Ayton's line is set at 16.5 with the under (-125) favoring the over (-104). Vegas has Ayton being able to up his scoring in Game 2 a little more than Holiday. While Holiday has the ball in his hands more, I see Ayton outscoring him in Game 2, just as he did in Game 1.

Holiday had a bad shooting night, which has been fairly common this postseason. Although he seemed to find his footing at the end of the Eastern Conference Finals, his 4-for-14 performance in Game 1 seemed a little too familiar.

Milwaukee has Giannis Antetokounmpo back in the lineup which means most of the attention is going to focus on him. However, that also means the driving lane won’t be as open for Holiday to make his move, forcing him to take more jumpers. If the Suns can keep Holiday on the perimeter, that’s a great sign for them.

Ayton, on the other hand, has been the model of consistency. He hasn’t had that many ups and downs in these playoffs. Ayton and Chris Paul have mastered the pick and roll, and that has led to a lot of easy buckets and free throw opportunities. Not only do I think Ayton will outscore Holiday, but he will easily surpass his scoring projection. If the Suns are able to take advantage of the Bucks’ pick and roll defense, Ayton could see himself near the top of the team in points.
