Why Raiders vs. Steelers Could Be Closer Than You Think

Two 1-0 teams match up at Heinz Field this afternoon when the Pittsburgh Steelers host the Las Vegas Raiders, but judging by how much Pittsburgh is favored, it doesn't feel that way.

Both teams won in Week 1 as underdogs, with the Steelers stunning the Bills in Buffalo 23-16. Big Ben and Pittsburgh entered the game as 6.5-point underdogs only to win outright on the road.

Meanwhile, the Raiders closed as three-point underdogs in their Monday Night Football matchup against the Baltimore Ravens, scoring 17 points in the fourth quarter and winning 33-27 in overtime. Both Pittsburgh and Las Vegas were two of nine underdogs that won straight up in Week 1.

The Steelers are currently six-point favorites against the Raiders over at WynnBET Sportsbook, and are -260 moneyline favorites for the 1 pm ET kickoff today with the total sitting at 46.5 points. But if you take a look at recent trends between these two teams, the number may be sitting a tad bit too high.

Via NFL.com. the Raiders and Steelers games over the last several matchups have all been very close, with five points or less deciding the outcome in six of the last eight games.
