Nobody has had a better 2022 PGA Tour season than Scottie Scheffler.

Heading into the season, he was known as a guy who was always near the top of the leaderboard, but was never able to get it done down the stretch. He finally got his first PGA Tour career win at the WM Phoenix Open, and the floodgates opened.

He then went on three of his next five events, including a win at the WGC Match Play event, and the first Major tournament of the year, the Masters. But, will we see a hangover from him in the coming weeks?

Scottie Scheffler Betting Odds

WynnBET Sportsbook has Scottie Scheffler set as the +1000 favorite at this week's AT&T Byron Nelson, and the +1200 co-favorite at next week's PGA Championship.

We'll see what kind of form he's in this week at the AT&T Byron Nelson, but there is some merit to a Masters hangover.

Dating back to 2016, when looking at all Masters winners from when the event was held in the fall, they only have one combined top 10 finish in one of the three remaining majors that year. Patrick Reed, the 2018 winner, finished fourth at that year's US Open.

Outside of that finish, spring Masters winners since 2016 have zero top 20s and four missed cuts. That means history doesn't bode well for Scheffler. It's hard to stay hot in the sport, and Scheffler could be the latest victim of the Masters hangover.
